What's worse: milk or soy milk? (endo diet)
I don't follow the endo diet strictly as it would be impossible with my work life. I did consult a nutritionist in March this year & found her quite moderate
She suggested restricting certain foods & cutting out others to control oestrogen levels & reduce inflammation
My question is: what is the worst thing to have - soy milk or skimmed milk?
At home I've changed to nut milks.
In my teens, 20s I used to have very painful breasts with PMS until I swapped out cows milk for soy which improved… read more
I was told by my Endo specialist in 2007 that soy, being high in estrogen, is very bad for us.
Gillian Michaels wrote a book about PCOS and said that its the soy @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member is right! The Calafia farms hazelnut creamer is my favorite or cashew milk ice cream is also amazing. I watched a documentary on dairy and it FREAKED me out!! If you think about it cows milk is designed to grow a more than 2 ton animal just like most breast milk will fatten up a child because it has more fat in it, not to mention all the hormones they inject into a cow or pig or chicken. One of the doctors on this documentary even said we're seeing more cases of women with things like endo and its because of the huge increase in automatic hormones and antibiotics into the food we eat. My niece can't have dairy so I have given up a lot of dairy just not cheese yet but I'm working toward it! Good luck my fellow travelers on this highway paved in pain!
I believe the effects of soy (oestorgen) is in particular very harmful to us Endo women. I used to eat soy products, but have since cut out all soy that hasn't gone through the proper fermentation process that eliminates the oestrogens. I would opt for almond or coconut milks. I actually buy a mixture of the both and I love it!I It's made by Califa Foods and is Non-GMO.
Almond milk! Soy is very bad for you. Believe me, I grew up on a farm that grows it. It's packed with extremely harmful chemicals. Milk is also very harmful.
