Im currently on the waiting list to have my last ovary removed, my left was removed years ago.
I'm pretty together on the "no more children" however, I know that once my ovary is gone, the psychological effect of the Menapause will convince me that I want a baby.
What I ask is could I have the eggs froze on the NHS or do I have to pay?
Any info would help
Thank you
Jess x
Hi there,
I'm hearing this a fair bit from people. I've yet to see the consultant but will be putting it to him.
I don't want more but I know that once I loose my only ovary, my mind will change. It's due to this the I feel very much like a fraud for pushing it.
I don't want to ever think I'm worse than someone who doesn't have children, as I'm not.
I'm just very unsure!
Thank you for replying 😘
I don't know 4 sure but if u already have children the nhs tend not cover u 4 any ivf type procedures which might include egg freezing. I think a lot depends on where u live as in the UK ivf procedures r a bit of a postcode lottery. I've just had 1 round of ivf on the nhs which unfortunately wasn't successful. I was supposed 2 b given 2 but they've said that they won't cover me 4 a 2nd round as my body didn't respond as well 2 the fertility drugs, despite them still managing 2 extract and fertilise 2 eggs! My advice would b pester the hell out of the nhs but also look at private options, prices differ at different clinics, good luck x
