Do Any Of You Ladies Have No Endo On Their Reproductive Organs But Only An Abdominal Wall Endometrioma (AWE)?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am lucky enough not to actually have endometriosis on my reproductive organs. I do, however, have a LARGE endometrioma in my abs (laughing bc my abs haven't seen the light of day since the 90s). My second c-section left me with mass. It's about 2" NW of my scar. I work for surgeons and one is taking the mass out in a few weeks. It's not a lap procedure. It'll be through my old c scar. Would love to chat with anyone with a similar situation. I'm not a candidate for ANY hormone meds bc of heavy… read more

I have previously had a lump removed from muscle wall on c section scar approx 3 years ago currently have another lump on bladder so scan due to see if it's endo possibly and because my symptoms are worsening every month I'm now going for lap to check extent of endo if any in my pelvis xx

It's a palpable lump about 2" up and to the right of my c section scar. One day, I had a sharp/dagger pain and felt the lump. My doc said it was surely a hernia. I got a ct scan and it was immediately dxd as an endometrioma. Over the past yr and a half that I've had it, the symptoms have gotten much worse. The pain is consistent while I have my period. It worsens the end of my period. It hurts 3 wks out of the month. The lump grows/swells when I am on my cycle. It legit feels like there's a surgical instrument in there. Hot scissors (the pain). I cannot wait to get this thing out!

I have AWE. After a misdiagnosis, we found out that's what it was. I know exactly what you mean about the hot scissors pain.

I had the same pain and symptoms. Pain started around menstrual cycle but as time went on the pain was constant. 3 weeks a month with pain. I had an abdominal surgery done to remove the golf ball size mass and I opted to have a lap done same day to basically look around to make sure it wasn't anywhere else. I figured lets get it all out at once and I'll never have the pain or need to have any additional surgeries. I had my surgeries January 31st, they found that I jad it all over my abdomen. They said they got it all, Yippy. After recovering from the actual surgery, I felt great. No pain, no menstrual issues (other then cramps), finally relief. Now, here I am 4 months later....and im feeling it. The stabby, twisty, crampy little pains. They are dull...same as it started before. But I am sacred because I feel it on both sides. In thr spot it was before and on the other side. I avoided going to the doctor for so long before I had it removed the first time. It really sucks....
So my questions for anyone who has similar issues- does anyone have the pain worse around ovulation? Rather than menstruation. And if its been removed, did it come back faster, bigger, or at all? What causes it to come back?

Can you explain what kind of symptoms you have with it in your abs?
