Mine was found only with diagnostic laparoscopic surgery. It's true that it is the only way to find it. For me, the doc said if it's bad enough that a hysterectomy is warranted, she would remove what she could but would have to reschedule for hysterectomy because the surgical set up is different. But it turns out that she only had to remove one ovary and both Fallopian tubes. She also burned it off my bladder and behind my uterus. Endometriosis will only be fully diagnosed with explorative surgery (laparoscopy) I had a lot of ultrasounds before I had the surgery and no endometriosis showed up in any of them! It was found with surgery! Endometriosis is when the cells of the lining of the uterus form in other places in the body! They normally form around the ovaries, bladder etc. Some women don't know they have it other suffer with bad pelvic and back pain and chronic exhaustion! Endometriosis can cause infertility so if children are on the cards at some stage of your life it's very important to get the correct treatment for it!! Best of luck to you!
