Has Anybody Else Experienced The Rectal Bleeding? *mainly With BMs..

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

(I know this is kind of gross, but I'm concerned)

This morning I noticed blood on the toilet tissue after my bowel movement. At first I thought I had just bled through the tampon, but I didn't think it'd been nearly long enough for that. To be sure, I removed my tampon but there wasn't much blood at all. A little while later I had a sudden urge to have to go again, and of course there was more blood. As the day progressed, I started to get shaky, nauseous, and lightheaded. Is this something… read more

hey! i have the same issue. During my last surgery they noticed i have Endo on the outer part of my bowel causing the rectal bleeding. I will have to have a bowel resection at some point in the near future. my doctor told me i had nothing to worry about unless i get to where i can not go to the restroom which means i have a large blockage due to the endo.

I was diagnosed by my GI several years ago with ulcerative proctitis, and rectal bleeding is a common symptom that I deal with almost daily. I was only recently diagnosed with endo in the last 2 months, but they found a lot of it near my rectum, which could be part of what is causing the inflammation/proctitis in that same region...but they aren't necessarily related, especially bc I still have major rectal bleeding after excision. Either way, I agree with what some others have said - go see your GI but also talk to your GYN. I am mostly able to keep the proctitis under control with medicine, eating somewhat clean, and trying to keep my stress level low (not always easy!)

You may need to see a gastroenterologist. Find out if you have colon cancer in your family history. You could have colon polyps and one could have burst open. It could be that you strain too much when you had your BM and tore the tissue. I have done that. The color of your stool is important too. If it is black that isn't good. But remember food, medication and supplement can change your stool color. I hope it isn't something serious.
