Heey jess* I experienced the same feelings as you did ever since I heard about surgery when I was diagnosed last year hehe the night before my surgery I actually cried myself to sleep, but it is not that bad!! Just remember that you are going to have the nicest sleep ever hehe! Good luck to you, I know it is not very nice, but try and relax a little bit! Thinking of you*

Hey!
Yes I was so so scared for both of my surgeries, so I really empathise with you. No matter how "positive" people tell you to be it's very difficult when you are so afraid, what I found helped is preparation, a list of everything you will need to make you comfortable after the op:

This link was so helpful for me, if you can't click on it Google "this endo girl, what's in my hospital bag" and it will come up.

Make sure you have easy soup type meals in and someone around to look after you for the first week at least - if you live alone.

Also I watched a YouTube video about pre-surgery anxiety and that really helped, by a channel called "psychic surgeons".

Talk to your surgeon and your anaesthetist about your worries and they will reassure you, and before you go in to the op the anaesthetist will greet you and make you feel calm.

If you need any more support just shout.

I promise it is not as bad as you are thinking and it will all be over soon.
Good luck.

Getting a diagnosis and moving forward should be a time of relief. Women who suffer from endo either deal with anxiety or depression pretty bad. So please try not to over think it. (Things we get tired of hearing.) I can reassure you that though you may be nervous now and even the day of. There are women out there still trying to find relief. So let this be a time that you can fulfill yourself in knowing you're moving forward with this. Keep your head up, and know it will get better. ๐Ÿ’—
