I'm 45 & my specialist he would like to give me 3 months of Zoladex to reduce risks in a particular up coming surgery
The surgery is unavoidable & I'm ok with that.
I've noticed info on Zoladex for women
over 35 is a bit scant. The
effect reversals seem to have been mostly determined in younger women.
I'd like to know from ladies over 40 and especially those 45 & over who have had a Zoladex jab & how it affected them, their bone density, did it induce menopause or not, have they had… read more
LisaD, thank you, all feedback is good to know.
I know my specialist is fine. My case isn't easy, it is still being assessed & I understand why he has suggested this may need to happen. As I say, it would be for surgical reasons, for 3 months too in my case. I'm wondering if it may be better to read pre-menopause breast cancer stats & forums as it is used as hormonal therapy for those ladies.
Still happy to hear feedback from ladies on this website!
I'd look on nancy's Nook on FB and look at the specialist listing and find a better doc. That's very scary at any age but certainly after 35.
I was 36 and had 3 months of Zoladex. I had very bad menopausal symptoms (I thought I was going to die from hot flushes and mood swings) but I continued to have my period (it didn't stop at all which confused one of my foctors) Haven't noticed any long term effects except the Eczema on my head has flared up.
I was told 3 months would be fine with no effects but I think only time will tell.
Sorry I can't be more helpful x
