Gallbladder
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have any of you ladies had any trouble with your gallbladder since being diagnosed with endo? For the last month and a half I haven't been able to keep hardly any food down, I'm constantly nauseous and I'm not pregnant. I am having testing done the 28th of this month on my gallbladder. If anyone has any insight I'd really appreciate it

Absolutely! Had an emergency removal bc of the hormones they used. Caused a cholesterol problem and nearly killed me!

U can still have gallbladder problems without gallstones. I fought with my primary care dr for 3 years over my gallbladder. My labs and ultras were all fine. She put me on prilosec, that didnt work, then tried nexium, that didnt work. It got to the point where the pain was sooo bad and i would wake up with acid reflux/vomit in my mouth. My primary care dr finally sent me for a hida scan, which tests how well the gallbladder functions. My gallbladder failed miserably. Needless to say she then believed me and i had surgery a week later.

I started to have upper right quadrant pain (behind my ribs on the right) but really infrequently. Prior to that I had right shoulder tip pain, I was referred to a thoracic surgeon and last year had surgery to check the top of my diaphragm for endo. After that operation, this pain behind my rib cage has worsened and now I have it nearly everyday. I had an ultrasound and my gallbladder/kidneys etc were all supposedly fine. I’m due to have an MRI for my abdomen and chest to see if there is any endo but I’m afraid that nothing will show up anyway. The thoracic surgeon wants to work with a GI surgeon for my next surgery to see if there’s any endo on other organs or small intestines, I can’t believe so many others have experienced this pain. I know this post is from a few years ago now.. has anyone found the route of their pain? Any advice or info from experience would be appreciated so much!

I cry as I read this, because I have all the same problems and it sucks to know there are others out there that suffer like I do... Anyways, yes I was diagnosed with Endo in late 2018 (had to fight for 1 1/2 years to get laproscopy from my FORMER OBGYN) and my health has just gotten progressively worse. I waited for 9 months for my last lap, which I just had to clean out the Endo (thank you COVID19) and I'm still sick (pain, nausea, food makes me too I'll so I stopped eating solid foods in March, bloating, ceamping). Now my GI wants to do HIDA test... I'm just so sick of being sick... Any advise or experience on this subject is appreciated!

This exact thing happened to me. I’m back at a GI now for severe right-flanked pain, do you ever still have issues?
