I am a 40 yo woman that has been recently diagnosed with endo (I also have fibroids). I'm about to undergo a partial hysterectomy in 5 days and have been obsessing over many things but most of all sex! My sexual history is pretty conservative - not that many partners, adventures, etc. And it would suck if my sex life was to totally stop here.

Can anyone share with me whether your sex drive increased/decreased/stayed the same after a partial hysterectomy?

I'm sorry that you weren't able to keep both ovaries, I hope that the positives outweigh the negatives in this situation. Heal up!

I just had my uterus and tubes removed, 9 days ago, so I can't speak from my own personal experience, but everything I have read suggests that women do not generally suffer from libido effects from removal of the uterus. If you are keeping your ovaries, everything should be the same, as long as you are still making hormones at your previous levels. Hope this helps!

Thank you Amanda. They were able to save one ovary. The other one was too damaged from the endometriosis. Time will tell if my libido returns :-)
