I have tried seeing quite a few doctors in North Carolina and I feel like none of them have really helped. Does anyone know of any endo specialists in NC? I want to go to someone who really knows a lot about this and can offer me options and HOPE!
Try checking out Nancy's Nook on Facebook, it's a good resource! I'm not sure where in NC you are, but I have a great doc in Spartanburg, SC.
I don't know about NC, but I almost went to see a doctor at the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, Georgia. They are a specialty center, and from the limited interaction I had with them, they were very caring and kind. Good luck!
Kim Newman and her husband David Newman with GYN Care of the Carolinas both work a lot with endometriosis, and also other related problems. I had visited four previous doctors (including one specialist at Duke), and had been very dissatisfied with their care. But Kim Newman has been very considerate and helpful at every appointment. She used the "Firefly" technology in combination with Da Vinci robotic laparoscopy to assist with revealing hidden endometriosis; and then excised the endometriosis. Her husband assisted with the surgery, and I've heard through the grapevine that she assists him with surgery when he is the primary care provider.
Aww that's disappointing I was so hoping it would be a good place! Nc just doesn't seem to have much for this disease.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I think I got seriously unlucky at Duke. That was the most recent specialist I saw and it was at an office that was so sketch and the doctor himself was so self-righteous I could not find the words to respond to him.
He was so sure he had figured me out and that all this time I was being treated for Endo while I SHOULD have been treated for IC.
Well butter my biscuit doc, I never knew that all this time while I WASN'T having bladder issues after the depo cleared them up that this intense pain centered around my ovaries, uterus, and pelvis was my bladder. Shew!
Anyways, like I said I seriously think I drew the short straw. There aren't a lot of doctors around here who focus on treating this crappy disease.
