If so, do you think 1 condition can flare up the other and ideas of causes and/or best ways to manage flare-ups and symptoms?
I have both. And yes I do believe the flare ups overlap/combine.
I just had sex for the third time ever but for the second and third time, I felt a sharp pain shoot from my butt and lower back. I didn’t feel the pain in my lower abdomen though. The pain was worse off when doing the doggy style. Is this normal during the first times you have sex or I actually have endometriosis.
I have had a laparoscopy and I feel the same way. Doggy Style is a hell no because it hurts so badly. The only way I can do it without pain is on my back and I have to take it slow at first no matter… read more
For me i get hot flashes off and on from my endometriosis.
I am still in great pain after my laparoscopy not even 6 months ago. I have cut dairy and gluten as well as alcohol. The doctor says its either surgery again or upping my orillissa for the 6th month dose. Has anyone had the same experience? Are there options or is this just life?
I am 63 and had endo since l was 14. So keep that in mind. Orissa was not an option before my hysterectomy. I take it now l take midol too. Middle works really well and they have a pill that relieves… read more
Though my diagnosis is fairly new, the symptoms have been rapidly getting worse to the point where I can barely do my everyday tasks and spend most days in bed. I really want to call my doctor and make an appointment but I'm not sure if I can continue to push for stuff this early in my diagnosis. I'm completely new to dealing with a chronic illness and have no idea what I'm doing. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes! Absolutely! When you do get to your doc appt, make sure you really tell them how bad it is cause so many of them just ASSUME that since you're new to the diagnosis, it "can't be that bad"… read more
I’ve been on the Depo for at least 6 years and have been getting pressured to come off it due to the effects it can have long term like bone density and trouble getting pregnant, however it is the only form of contraception that helps my endo and completely stops all periods and endo side effects.
I have to make a decision between Lupron or IUD as the birth control pill is no longer an option for me. What does everyone feel is better for pain relief and elimination of growth?
I have the Mirena IUD as birth control and still use Lupron for endo. So it’s not really a choice between the two. Lupron was hard on my overall system but I got significant pain relief from my… read more
I’ve been on the depo shot for two and a half years, and had a laparoscopy 6 months after starting. They told me they were able to remove about 75% of the endo based on where it was located, so they kept me on the depo thinking it would prevent more tissue growth. Within the past couple of months, I’ve started having really intense periods every 2 or 3 months rather than spotting, and they’re heavier and more painful than before I started any form of birth control. Could this be a sign that the… read more
Yes. Let's do!
New here but sadly not to endometriosis. Obviously I live with the burden of this disease running my life and marriage so after a year of being told I need a hysterectomy I have scheduled it. The Dr is saying 6 weeks for healing. We are doing laparoscopic with the possibility of abdominal removal as I have Stage 4 and it is covering my bowels and possibly reached my bladder. Any of you who have had a hysterectomy please tell me how long did it take until you could move around at least for an… read more
I had a hysterectomy in June of 2022 and honestly I don’t recall the specifics of when exactly I was able to move around, but I do remember I used my mom’s walker the first month and then as I was… read more
