I Was Just Wondering If Anyone Else Suffers Extreme Pain After Having A Couple Alcoholic Drinks?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced the same as me which is whenever I seem to have 2 or more alcoholic drinks my stomach cramps kick in badly and even for up to 2 days after it feels like extremely bad period pains and hot and cold sweats. Last weeks all I had was 2 drinks and I ended up in hospital after passing out from the pains. I'm only 18 and not really a heavy drinker but as I have a holiday coming up in a month it would be nice to be able to find out what I'm doing wrong… read more

I experience this quite often! I'm not sure if maybe managing what it is your drinking would help? But I deffo can tell the difference if I have been drinking alcohol pops or cider (it's agony after) I tend to stick to clear sprits with soda and lime which seems to be better. I know it's better to not drink but realistically a enjoy a couple every so often. I also make sure I have "recovery days" after I know I'm going out just in case the pain is bad! Hope this is some what helpful! Sorry to hear of ur pain! Xx

Yes! I don't drink at all anymore because the pain was too unbearable. Alcohol is the absolute worst for my period & endo. It's hard sometimes because I loved to throw back a bottle of wine after a long day, but I started experiencing what my boyfriend affectionately called "tornado moments". The endo pain is so out of control after I drink I basically turn into Linda Blair from the Exorcist. I had to give it up. Drinking is fun but it wasn't worth it to me anymore. Sorry I don't have any more suggestions besides "Quit having fun!", but I personally found it to be so much better.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member glad I'm not the only one! The last time I saw my specialist post op I was very honest about how I think my lifestyle is now what I need to control and this was a huge part of it. I'm not a heavy drinker but enjoy socalizing at the pub on a Saturday! So just had to start with cutting them out πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

I was at work last night and drank a regular alcoholic drink and a shot. Not even 30 minutes later, my tummy started to not feel good and I was hot all of a sudden!
This morning, I have some cramps..
Just got diagnosed with mild Endo, so I’m starting to keep in mind the effects everything has on my body nowπŸ˜”
