Laparoscopy PreOp Consultation Questions
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a preop consultation for another laparoscopy tomorrow morning, and I always feel like I want to ask more questions/get information, but either leave without doing so or can't think up thorough enough questions. What are some things you all suggest I absolutely ask/information I should certainly get at this consultation?

I made a list and made sure that I asked everything I wanted to. A couple of my definite questions were: 1. Just so we are clear, what is the main goal with this surgery? 2. Will you be cutting out the deeper implants or just cauterizing? 3. Will you be taking pictures and/or video of the tissue you see and can I have access to all of the information obtained during this procedure? (This is a big one because you will really want these docs later. Plus, if you know what forms of it they find and where, you can google afterwards and gain better understanding of symptoms and severity.) There could be tons more depending if you have other organs involved and what you may specifically want answers for where your case is concerned individually. I hope this helps.
