I'm having my first laparoscopic surgery Friday and I'm kinda nervous. A few things I wonder is how long did it take for recovery? Good experiences and bad experiences with it? Did it help with the pain and bleeding afterwards? Or anything else you would think is helpful.
Ive had the surgery twice now! Took about a week to recover and feel like myself again. I struggled with going to the toilet with the fear and pain of my stitches 'bursting', even though I was told that wouldn't happen. Just uncomfortable. Extremely worth it in the end! Make sure you've got some tv shows and movies to binge watch, heat pack on standby and lots and lots of pillows to get comfy (pretty much flat on your back). Good luck with it!!! <3
Hi Kate I just had a Laparoscopy 2 weeks ago & I am doing fine in that area. They freed my adhesions, that's the word the dr. used. The first 5 days were weird cause I was overly medicated & I don't know if that is why I am having these terrible pressure headaches but I really don't think so. I only took 1 Norco pain pill & I am a big baby so I really don't think the pain is bad. It's small incision on the belly button & he had to make another open incision cause he could not get the camera in due to severe adhesions from endo . I had many surgerys for recurrent endo. I already had a hysterectomy when I was 26 so I have no periods. I wasn't able to conceive cause of the endo. I wish you the best. Try & not be nervous, easier said than done cause I was a basket case but a Lap is really not that bad. It's when they open you up completely that the recovery time is longer. I am still taking it easy. I don't vacume or mop or have sex yet. It is suppose to be 6 weeks . If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm there for you. Welcome to our team. This group of people are the best. I don't know what I would do without my Endo Sisters.
It took me round a month to recover fully after my laparoscopy, that was where they found my endometreotis
