Hi, after being told by consultant that hysterectomy was my only course of treatment I was determined to find another way. After researching on various endo sites I came across this author and her book: 'Endometriosis: a key to healing and fertility through nutrition' - Dian Shepperson Mills MA and Michael Vernon PhD HCLD
Within 2 months of changing my diet (as above reply; cutting out wheat and other gluten grains, dairy and sugar) plus taking good supplements, my last 2 periods have decreased significantly in pain. To the extent that I have only felt the need to take painkillers on one occasion! I have not had to take time off work (I would usually have to take 1 day off work each period as the pain was so severe).
I hope that this will continue to improve my symptoms. Emotionally the first 4 weeks were tough sticking to the diet and not knowing if it would work or not, plus feeling overwhelmed by what I could and couldn't eat. Where to buy foods from, planning meals etc. I'm so glad I stuck with it and look forward to minimal pain in the future.
Good luck.

My GI doc put me on the FODMAP diet, basically it's avoiding gluten, processed sugars and dairy

You have to find out what your triggers are. Mine are greasy foods, milk a couple of other things the point is find them out and avoid them. Yes I'll cheat but then I pay for it. Hope this helps.
