I had surgery for endo 5 years ago. It wasn't by a true endo specialist, but she was pretty good and a lot of the severe pain went away. It's gotten worse over time, but I'm doing okay. I have flare-ups that are bad (not always related to my period) but I also have times when I'm doing pretty well. I do have a pretty constant pulling on my right side, though.
My worse symptom currently is hormonal. I have horrible pmdd/depression. I get my period every three weeks.

Thanks! Yeah, it's more hormonal, but I can't be on any hormones, so really there's nothing to control it. :(
Surgery is always the last option. I have found from experience that the pain will only get worse - it never gets better on its own :(
I had surgery 5 years ago in Bham and have ended up with a sub total hysterectomy this year! :/ I'm not in any where near as much pain - but I am steadily getting worse!
I think you should look at outcomes - of both options - 1) no surgery - how long do you think it will be before its unbearable? Will surgery be beneficial or is it hormone help you need?
2) surgery - will it give you any better quality of life ? If so. How long for?
I've had 3 laparoscopies, 1 laparotomy, 2 c- sections, and ablation, excision of endo - I had it very severely - it was everywhere and I got to the point where every day was agony - especially at my period. I really don't miss my periods... But I'm still getting excrutiating low back and left hip pain.
It's all got to be your decision at the dm'd of the day - but we are stuck between a rock and a very hard place with endo.
Good luck xxx
I would like to know too. My pain is not as bad as my depression also.
I have surgery once a year and it seems like it does help me.
