Cannabis Treatments For Chronic Pain?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I live in NY where Chronic Pain will be added to the list of qualifying conditions to receive medical cannabis treatments.

There is a product that combines the non-psychoactive CBD cannabinoids with the THC cannabinoids (the kind that makes you feel good) and together they synergistically combat chronic pain by naturally disrupting the pain receptors in your body. I've found using medical cannabis to be beneficial, in particular, to help me take less harmful narcotics, which I need in order to… read more

There is a suppository (not available in NY that I know of) that has provided me with the most targeted relief I've ever experienced, right at the epicenter of where the pain is generated. Using the suppositories in conjunction with the pain meds has been a game changer. My hope is that I can legally use medical cannabis once I can get my card and not have to take any more narcotics.

I live in WA where marijuana is legal. There's literally a weed store next to Walmart. Anyways, I smoke marijuana daily for pain relief and also for my moods, which flip flop like crazy. My husband and I have been talking more and more about me getting my medical marijuana card. I have also heard of balms and lotions that are sold at our local store and I'm hoping to try one or more of those after next payday. I'm hoping a balm will be helpful and also be something I can use during the day instead of having to be high to feel any relief from pain. I am a mother of three girls, so I only smoke in the evenings after I have gotten them all home from school and settled in. I started smoking pot years ago because I liked it, but I continue now so that I can cope with the pain which has increased immensely in the last 2 years. I'd also like to add that my brother is a heroin addict, which is one of the main reasons I choose marijuana for pain relief instead of hydro or oxy anything. Pain meds are a big business, and one I would rather not contribute to. I was also recently told by a nurse (after reading my records later I realized the nurse is married to the gynecologist I was seeing) that I have no reason to feel bad for using marijuana for pain and that I was "on the right track" as far as treating my pain, which was nice to hear. In your second paragraph you specifically mention "a product". Are you referring to a certain type, or strain or a different means of taking it all together...? I'd be curious to know more about what you're referring to.
