A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

So couple questions.. Sorry for long post
After years of pain and being told Im fine and brushed off by health care system... I finally seen a good specialist and had a lap which uncovered the reason of my pain- ENDO! Since I stopped Birth control 4 years ago I had non existent/irregular periods, depression /anxiety, mood swings, fatigue, on/off spotting for months, pelvic pain, cysts, and high testosterone levels. My relationships were being effected. I believe I have PCOS, as my doctor told… read more

Hi
Look up food you shouldn't eat while having endo. Some food actually trigger hormone imbalances which cause mood swing etc. since cutting chocolate and sugar my moods have been fab. No more Jekyll and Hyde ha ha . Look up on you tube yoga for endometriosis in which I have a tarted recently and helps your body pains and clears your mind (gets rid of stress, depression etc). I have made this changes for two weeks so far and actually feel I have endo under control. I'm not on hormone contraceptives due to causing mood swings. also I have read multivitamins help balance hormones. Which I may try soon . Good luck

You sound like me! Google Nascent Idodine and Endo. Started it about a month ago. Still had pain this month with ovulation. I am dead set against BC too. I want to naturally get my hormones in balance. Nascent Iodine and Selenium. Also, check out Dr. Lam's videos I learned a lot. he said when a woman's estrogen and progesterone are in balance that is when a woman feels her best. Totally makes sense to me. If you are interested in Iodine, message me I can tell where I got mine. Hugs.

I have been taking chaste berry at the recommendation of a functional medicine doctor I found near me. At our first appointment she said she suspected estrogen dominance, and when the lab results came back it confirmed that my progesterone was way too low in relation to my estrogen levels. She agreed that birth control is not a viable long term solution if you want to be regulating your hormones and getting them to the point where they regulate themselves without BC.

So, chaste berry is used to stimulate progesterone production, but she said you need to take it for at least 3 months to see results. She recommended a brand called Fertility Blend for Women (they have a men's version) which has Chaste berry and a lot of other vitamins and minerals that are good for raising progesterone. Low progesterone also happens to cause infertility in and of itself, which is why it is in an OTC fertility medicine, but it is fine to take if you aren't trying to get pregnant too.

However, I was just diagnosed with endometriosis last week and have an appointment with the functional medicine doctor late next month. I will see if she still continues to recommend chaste berry with my new diagnosis. Estrogen dominance causes cysts, endometriosis, breast cancer, and a lot of other bad things, so anything natural to raise progesterone is always good!

I have estrogen dominance and I have been working with a naturopath and doing bio-identical progesterone. It helps me a lot.
