Hi Ladies, I Was Just Wondering Is It That Big Of A Difference If You Get Your Surgery Done By A Gynaecologist?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had 2 surgeries done by 2 different gynaecologists but neither of them were endometriosis excision specialists. I'm still getting symptoms and I'm just concerned that I've wasted two surgeries on surgeons (not specialists) who may not have done the job well enough?

I believe there is a difference between getting your surgery done by a specialist and someone who isn't

I've had 2 laporosocopy surgeries

My first 1 was done by a gynaecologist but not a specialist in excision

Within 6 months I was in more pain and pretty much worse off than I was before the surgery

My 2nd laporosocopy was done by a specialist who specialises in excision and deep lesions of endometriosis in the pelvic

It's been 6 months and I'm due to go for a check up in 2 weeks

My pain is different and I've been able to do more than I have before

From what I know excision is the only way to get results and feel improvements regarding pain and generally how you feel about your health

Hope that helps 💞

I have had two laps as well. First one was with a regular gyno and my second was with a endo excision specialist. There is definitely a difference as far as going longer without pain. My first surgery with the gynecologist I was in worst pain right after and the second time with the specialist I was completely pain free for a good 14 months but my appendix was removed at that time as well. I have started to feel like I am going back down the same road though of being at square one with the pain and terrible periods. Although I might have had a longer outcome if I chose a treatment plan afterwards like a birth control. I just hate how it makes me feel.
