Hi everyone, currently trying to decide whether to leave one ovary after hysterectomy then be on Visanne until menopause or just have a complete hysterectomy. I'm concerned as I get really bad PMS so respond badly to progesterone. I'm 41 with stage 4 DIE. I would love to hear some experiences :)
Maybe u mite need think of getting rid other ovaries so u not getting anymore pains frm endo
Hi Danielle, I had my ovaries removed and had Hysterectomy bck 2014 itwas alittle bit change but i felt alot better about not suffereing with endo pains anymore
About 3/4 years ago I was told by my gynae that I had endo and adenomyosis. She put me on Visanne and told me to get use to it cause I would have to be on it till menopause. She is against a hysterectomy as I am only 36 now, 4 kids (all Caesarean section) and your reproductive system is vital to your mental and physical well being. I didn’t realise it until I researched it and yes... our hormones play a much larger role than just reproduction.
You also need an understanding partner. Mine refused a vasectomy cause he was afraid that it would affect his functionality. Then we got pregnant with no4...and then we got diagnosed with all this... be careful what you choose. Now he has to deal with me being an Endo-saurus. 🤗🤣
Seriously though... sometimes it’s better to deal with the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
Thanks for sharing that Melissa
