Hey guys, so I've decided to get the mirena IUD because the norethindrone tabs that I'm taking are a pain in the butt to remember to take at the exact same time every single day. I've tried a bunch of different birth controls in the past and this one if kind of my last resort. I'm a bit nervous about getting the IUD because I haven't had kids (infertility issues) and I've heard that
if you haven't had kids, then the insertion is a bit painful. My appt is exactly two weeks from today, the 7th ofโฆ read more

I'm not certain that it's the same everywhere but I had to reschedule because of my period as they aren't able to see the area as well if you're bleeding (nurse told me) I gave mirena 6months but I bled every day of those months and the pain wasn't improved (I have multiple conditions though so it's different for everyone) like an endo sister above though; I have heard some great success stories, may be worth asking if they can still do it during your cycle. Good luck ๐
I had mirena put in but I was knocked out for it, they tried to do it in clinic but was too painful so I got it done in hospital instead, cramping a lot after but never really agreed with me so had it taken out last year, best decision ever, for some it's great but just wasn't for me
I had the marina coil put in when I had my first laparoscopy done, when I was 19 so I don't know much about it as I was out. I didn't get on with it I bled for 3 months straight and became ill so they had to remove it, but that doesn't mean it won't work for you, I know a few people it's done wonders for!! I've heard it's uncomfortable putting it in Mabye ask for a muscle relaxant or a big shot of Dutch courage before you go lovely!! โค
I've never birthed a child. Boyyyyy was it painful to have placed. Cramps after. Ibuprofen! Totally worth it. It's helped reverse my Endo symptoms ๐
Take ibuprofen before your appointment. I got bad cramps right away. Take it easy after. Good luck.
