I never responded well to hormones and the side effects were horrible. I recently watched this documentary called Endo What? Before watching that I thought there was no hope -- my doctor basically said to learn to live with it and stay on pain meds. Since watching that documentary I feel like there is hope. I've already met with an endo surgeon specialist in California (traveled from North Carolina to do it) and I feel like I have a real chance of relieving some of my pain. I don't know for sure if it will work but I do have hope again and that's life-changing in itself.
Most doctors don't know what to do about endo, even though they won't admit it. So my advice is not to give up but to do as much research as you can and become your own advocate. Then find a doctor that will give you other options besides just hormonal meds. Good luck!
