It took around 22 years to be diagnosed. And it was me who finally found the answer and asjed about it. After every test the drs could run, they finally did a lap on me. It was extremely deep in my muscles and tissues around everything and in/on my colon, that he he closed me up without surgery. He said it was so deep he didn't want to make it worse. And that is how I finally found out for sure. When I was young and I asked about my severe cramping and the feeling of a knife being twisted inside my rectum, the gynecologist would just say I have bad cramps and it was normal. Not one ob/gyn went the further step. So ladies be your own advocate! The earlier you can get diagnosed probably better. No we even after 3 surgeries I'm still in pain and right now I have my period and can't stay awake. Good luck everyone!

I feel real bad.now. I have no relief lately. I go Sept 15 for colonoscopy & endoscopy & see if that tells anything. I also found a new GYN & will see him Mon & get his opinion. I am really truly getting tired of all this. It is ruining my life & Iit hurts so much I'm afraid to have sex with my husband & he will get tired of that after awhile. When your in pain , the last thing in my mind is sex. He has been patient but he is a guy & I'd hate to loose him. Do you or anybody else go through that during sex?

It took me a few months. I woke up one morning to a cyst rupturing. My current gyne at the time was awful. I had another cyst burst after that and found a new gyne. She suspected endo and did surgery a few months later.

Originally I was told it was ovarian cysts that were causing the problems I was experiencing (I found it hard to believe an ovarian cyst was rupturing daily). I went to see another physician for an opinion and at that time was diagnosed with endometriosis (the first laparoscopy confirmed it)

First mine were cyst then when I was able to go back and check on it she diagnosed me right then an there so mine happend in only months
