Does Anyone Have Both Tachycardia & Endo?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was set to have my next lap in a few days, but they have now postponed due to tachycardia. I've been tachycardic before, and all bloods have shown no reason why (e.g. Not thyroid related). A quick google suggested there could be a link between endo & tachy, was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this too?

I first started asking about endo way back in the 90s and it took me till this year to land an official diagnosis! I had SVT which started back in 2004 and in 2017, I finally succeeded in sticking with physical activity long term and it had gone away for 5 years. Then it came back and it was even higher than it had ever been before but something about the timing of that SVT suggested it was hormonal: It hit me the day before my period started every time. Going on aygestin for endo is what fixed my SVT in the end. My gyn confirmed the way endo messes with hormones can contribute to palpitations and arrhythmia.

I've had Super Ventricular Tachycardia for years (first episode when I was 8) and finally had an ablation done in 2017 to correct it. I still get ectopic beats and weird flutters. I have often wondered if it is a comorbid with Endo. I've also had light-headedness and fainting. There are thought to be some links between POTS and Endo too.

I have tachycardia and endometriosis as well. My surgery is scheduled for the 29th. The dr. ordered an EKG to be completed during my pre-admission testing, which will be coming up soon. I have had a few laparoscopies in the past and they were never cancelled due to any tachycardia related issues. Did the dr order an EKG to be completed with the blood work? I know that surgeries can be cancelled due to illness. Did you ask your doctor why it was postponed?
