Laprascopy
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Doctors have suspicions that I have endometriosis, and they want to do a laparoscopy.. What does your body feel like after a laparoscopy? And what endometriosis symptoms did you have before being diagnosed?

During the first 2 weeks expect pain, at least there was for me. I didn't react well to it initially. I went in for a gastric laparoscopy and accidentally found my endometriosis. I was under the care of a gastric surgeon so she didn't touch the endo (that's going to come later). But I can tell you they had that little camera everywhere, upper and lower abdomen I was in some serious pain (wanted to cry) for about the 1st week.
But that being said in the grand scheme of things it was no big deal. I am sitting here 6 weeks out and I am fine. No pain left over from the surgery. I still have abdominal pain from the endo but I had that before the surgery. I was feeling functional at about 2 weeks, well enough that I thought everything was fine and lifted something too heavy (definitely pay attention to those weight restrictions). But even then I was only set back a few days. It really has completely healed with no lasting effects from the surgery at 6 weeks.
I'd say pain for 2 weeks, sore for 4 and back to "normal" by 6.

It is soar. Only for a few days. Do not left over 15lbs and do not reach up for stuff. It hurts so bad. But should be healed after 4 weeks but they say 6. They will make 2 small incisions. One in your naval and the other on either the left or right side. Makes sure to ask if they plan on removing anything while in there such as masses cysts fibroids ext.
