A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone! I would really appreciate advice as I’ve looked online and haven’t found anyone asking this and it’s worrying me
Quick background ... Periods aged 11 to 18 very heavy and painful. I tried various types of birth control from age 18 to 23, helped at the beginning then periods came back heavy after a while. Beginning of this year I stopped everything to give my body a break surprisingly I had regular, not overly heavy periods despite the pain. However the issue started about 6… read more

I have always had heavy nasty periods. Over the past few years, mine disappear for months. I also have premature ovarian failure

So I also started at the age of 11 and stopped by 18 took meds in my late 20 so I could have my son thought that all helped and then stopped again. When I went to the drs they wanted to try the mirena and that was the worst choice ever as it made very thing 100 x worse and I started to hemorrhaging....best of luck to you all as I just figured I would let it stop

I had heavy periods until I was 18 and then i was out on birth control to help regulate it some so it wouldn’t b so bad and it got worse and so I had a lap at 22 and the pain has been unbearable this whole time since I was 11 and I wasn’t diagnosed til I was 22. Since my lap my periods have gotten fewer and lighter but I still have pain every month like I’m still haveing my period. That’s crazy right.. sometimes I have pain on random days. So the dr put me back on birth control and it made me sick and so I stopped taking it and now I have pain daily. And no period for 2 months since no birth control.

Mine are getting shorter and lighter too! I was wondering the same thing because I'm told the get heavier.... but I guess we are all different. I'm trying to eat a lot cleaner and since then mine has lightened up... so maybe that has something to do with?
