I have stage 4 endometriosis most of which was removed when I had my laparoscopy in June 2017 however the endometriosis on my bowel could not be removed as it was already through my bowel wall and my gynaecologist could not perform the operation.
I am really struggling with pain and bowel issues due to the obstruction on my bowel however I don't know any good gastroenterologist who deal with these problems.

Hi Nestle, I am doing ok thanks but I still did not get the endo removed from my bowel. My OBGYN said that it's too risky a surgery because of where on the bowel it is located and until it is affecting my health physically I should just leave it there. I did fall pregnant via IVF subsequently and he said it might have gotten a bit better on it's own but from the scans it looks the same but at least it hasn't gotten worse. Sorry I didn't do a colonoscopy or a scope of the bowel so I cannot really advise on that but I would be interested to know how it goes.
A gastroenterologist does not operate. He only does colonoscopy & endoscopy & provide meds if needed. Your best bet is a surgeon. I have endo behind bowel & bladder & I can't find a dr. to help me. I had adhesions removed 1 1/2 yrs ago & within 6 months they were back. Right now I am in terrible pain & it causing my blood pressure to rise bc of the pain. I sure hope you can find a doc who can help you. I feel for you bc I'm going through the same thing. hugs tigreyes
Ok, sounds good! Congrats on your pregnancy!
how are you doing now? I also have endo in my bowel. Normally colorectal surgeons deal with this, that is who I am seeing. He recommends me to remove that piece but I haven't decided to as yet. Could the scope get thru the bowel? It couldn't fit thru when my colonoscopy was done.
Thank you for the response tigreyes!! I did not know that.
