Have a left endometrioma 9cm. Am currently on Aygestin in the hopes of shrinking it somewhat before surgery in about 2 months. I
Will loose the ovary and have a hysterectomy due to
Heavy bleeding. I was diagnosed with Endo in 2003 during lap. And also did Ivf. I am fine with these procedures as I am 43 and done having kids. But I am scared to death or the surgery. Any thoughts or experience?
Thank you for your reply and support!
I have bilateral endometriomas who are also stuck to uterus and to each other. I'm happy to read surgery really improved your life. I do hope my ovaries can be saved. I'm not sure since there quite big
I did have my surgery. I had a hysterectomy and ovary removal where the cyst was. I was done having kids so I was fine with this decision. I also had a small endometrioma on my right side and they removed it and left that ovary. With the large one I don’t think they could have saved my ovary but I don’t know because I didn’t peruse that. My surgeon said that lots of times the large endometrioma don’t rupture because they are stuck to everything. Mine was. I feel sooooo much better with it gone and am enjoying life! Good luck with your surgery.
How did you go with surgery? I have a 10cm endometrioma on my left ovary and they’re waiting till September to operate. I’m terrified of losing my ovary :(
I’ve had an 8cm endometrioma removed along with at least another 15 endometriomas that were between 1cm and 3cm on both ovaries. I was told they looked like grapes on both of my ovaries. I came through the surgery and so will you. Wishing you the best.
