When To Go To Hospital For Pain?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi. I’ve recently been diagnosed with endometriosis. I still don’t know where it is or how bad it is. I went to hospital a week ago due to heavy bleeding, blood clots and pain and that’s when I was diagnosed. I was given pain meds (perks) and meds for the bleeding. It slowed down for 48 hours. Now it’s been back and is very bad again and the pain is soo much worse. I could take two perks and still feel like I’m dying. My question is should I go to the hospital? Or ride it out as it’s become the… read more

It is sad that we have to "ride it out", I do that as in hospital they can't do anything. Besides yoi might be wating for hours to be seen by the doctor. Normally I would take a cocktail of painkillers and go to bed, put tv on and get comfortable 🙁
But definitely get an appointment with gyneacologist

I'm sorry to hear your pain got so bad again 🙁 Is this bleeding your period? If not and/or if you have not yet been surgically diagnosed with endometriosis, then the ER might not be the worst idea simply because it could still potentially be something else (endo can only be diagnosed surgically). However, for endo pain in general, there is not much the ER can/will do, unfortunately. If you are not already a member, the Facebook group Nancy's Nook is an excellent resource for finding an excision specialist (which is the best treatment option) and other info on endo. One of their files is about when to go to the ER. I know this can all be overwhelming and this group is a great place for support 💛💛

You probably need surgery asap if its that bad unfortunetly :( sorry sister, but most of us have been or are in the same boat so feel free to keep asking questions :) in my opinion, a hospital wont help and they will eventually just label
You as a pain med seeker. Not to mention your bills are going to build up! Get into your gyno asap, or even better start looking up endo specialist in your area... its going to be a long road... save those pain meds for when you absolutely need them :/ sorry to hear you are in pain
