Has anyone else ever gone from continuous birth control back to pills with placebo? I stopped continuous due to getting Break through bleeding and I didn’t like it at all and just yesterday switched back to taking pills with placebo. I was originally taking pills and placebo with no problems but dr wanted to switch my continuous use, but the break through bleeding was too annoying. Anyone else experience any or all of this?!
I always got breakthrough bleeding with my pills, I've tried 3/4 now. I've also been on continuous progesterone meds and seaparate progesterone and oestrogen tablets that you just keep taking. Unfortunately my latest continuous meds made me swell too bad so I'm back on a combined pill with a 4 day break. I'm hoping to continuously take it also as I've never tried this progesterone (that's the part that causes your breakthrough bleeds if it's not strong enough or the ingredient doesn't agree with you). I'd suggest trying another pill if it's annoying you.
Yes I used to skip the sugar pills and keep taking it continuously but like you I always got break through bleeding and found it really annoying. I just have the break between packs now
Thank you! So far so good with the placebos ago for me. Just had mild discomfort the first two days with bleeding and now bleeding is barely there so I’m hopeful my body was just telling me I needed to have a period and that it did not like continuous use! Please let me know how yours goes. Good luck!
I've only just switched back last night so I'm not too sure what it'll be like this time. I know from trying out 4/5 pills in the past year that it takes a few months to get used to it. Sometimes I would bleed non-stop for weeks. I'll let you know how I go on this new one in the next few weeks.
That’s what I’m doing now as well, the break between packs. Did you notice any change in your period switching from continuous back to the break?
