Endometriomas Occur In What Stage?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all! I requested all my records from my gyn to get a better look at my history - my surgery was in 2013 so I am a little rusty now. Anyway, I was never given an actual stage after my surgery and I am not seeing it on my records either. Due to my returning pain, I wanted to re familiarize myself with my surgery...because we all know post surgery is a drugged up haze! The report essentially stated that I had a 4cm endometrioma and endometriosis on the bilateral uteroscaral ligaments and some… read more

My endo was found in the same spots as you. The cyst on my left ovary was 8-9cm at time of surgery though. And I had deep infiltrating endo bilaterally on my urerosacral ligaments. And a ton of it in my pouch of Douglas/cul de sac. I was told mine was stage 4 due to the location and extent that was found. My left ovary was actually embedded into the back of my uterus.

@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member mine was very painful. I had a smaller one years before and when it burst I could barely walk. But the bigger one was a nagging pain, sometimes a shooting pain. Very seldomly had a reprieve.

What was your pain like with the endometrioma? I have bilateral ones. 1 is 6.5cm and the other one is 4cm. They're stuck to my uterus and stuck to each other, kissing ovaries.

I wasn't told what stage my endo was either, but I was told the endometrioma was "the size of a large grapefruit" when they removed it. You could see it under my skin if I laid down. It completely destroyed my right ovary and tube and had overtaken my appendix and was attacking my ureter. It was trying to kill me.
