I absolutely hated lupron. I had my first laparoscopy last april and got started on lupron immediately after. While i did not have pain for the course of that treatment, (6 months) all of the side effects were too much for me. I was miserable and had a very low quality of life for that time. My pain came right back as soon as the treatment was over and now the pain is all over instead of localized to one area. Aside from all of the side effects, i was and am still worried about having been thrown into menopause at 19.

In my opinion, i hated Lupron an for me, no it did not help wit the endometriosis at all!! I had my first laparoscopic surgery last year in March wit 1 gynecologist, who afterwards put me on lupron injections bcuz i had a severe case of endo an she couldn’t get all of it wen she did the laparoscopy, so i went on a 6 month lupron treatment, an yes side effects hit me terribly, an then i wouldn’t stop bleeding for a whole 2 months straight, symptoms were still as bad as ever, so i got a 2nd opinion, an was sent to an endometriosis specialist, who ended up doin a 2nd laparoscopic surgery, an the specialist did inform that lupron can sumtimes make things worse. After seeing my results from my 2nd laparoscopy, i was thinking wow the lupron didnt do sht!! The specialist even walked into the room, wen i had my follow up appointment, an said i was a tough tough cookie, bcuz i had it everywhere, Still!! So all i can say is if u dont feel comfortable doin sumthin then dont, honestly i find it a bit strange that the dr wants to go ahead an give u lupron b4 doin the laparoscopic surgery, i mean shouldnt the dr make sure that u do in fact have endo b4 givin a treatment that is specifically for treating endo?? In the end it is ur body an ur choice, but i will say that I did not have a good experience wit the lupron injections, hopefully it will b different for you, watever u decide.

I wish you all the luck with everything moving forward!! Hopefully you can find some relief, especially without the lupron. I wouldnt wish that on anyone

After further research, I've decided to go with my gut feeling and look for a doctor who will do the lap first, so I can get my official diagnosis and hopefully remove whatever big stuff is in there. The Lupron just looks too miserable to be used as a first step, and even before I researched it, it felt wrong to me. My first doctor (who I liked but unfortunately ended up not being on my insurance) put me on Aygestin and suggested moving forward with a lap, so I think I'm going to find a supportive doc who agrees.

Lupron was poison for me. I only did one month the side effects were herrendous. I say go with surgery so u know for sure that u have endo and find a specialist who will excise it
