I was in for a week, but yes depends what they do

I’ve had endo resected from multiple parts of my bowel before, but never had to stay. I am a nurse though, and if you needed an actual bowel resection, you’d have to stay in the hospital, or your surgeon should be pushing for this. There is a chance the anastomoses can start leaking (the two ends of bowel that they connect after removing the diseased part) and they should be making sure you have bowel function back with no problems before discharge. Most of the time patients are on “gut rest” where they have to get IV nutrition until they can tolerate eating and drinking again.

I haven’t experienced this myself. But I have heard for bowel surgery they usually keep you for a few days to make sure everything is working well. They kept my friend for about 4 days.

I don't have a date yet bc I have to jump through all these hoops to get there. lol. No seriously Mayo Clinic will not do surgery until I see a GI dr. & theres isn't one available until the end of Sept. & I don't want to have to wait that long so I went to one in Vega. Now I have to go July 30th to Vegas & have an endoscopy & on Aug 1, I just got the date today & have a Upper GI series with small bowel . I'm really dreading that but I have to do it. Then I will have to return to Mayo Clinic Gyn & hopefully he accepts all my outsides reports & schedules surgery. This is why I am so stressed out & worried bc I have been dealing with this since May. So that's the story. Hugs tigreyes
