New here but sadly not to endometriosis. Obviously I live with the burden of this disease running my life and marriage so after a year of being told I need a hysterectomy I have scheduled it. The Dr is saying 6 weeks for healing. We are doing laparoscopic with the possibility of abdominal removal as I have Stage 4 and it is covering my bowels and possibly reached my bladder. Any of you who have had a hysterectomy please tell me how long did it take until you could move around at least for an… read more

I have read so many side effects and therefore i couldnt dare taking Visanne.. I am on Yasmin contraceptive pill instead. Could you share with me if you have similar experiences… read more

Hello. Anyone menopausal and still having pain? My doctor is convinced that at 51 my endo pain will decline soon and took me off my Norethindrone daily maintenance and Mirena IUD. Crashed and had severe cramps for 3 days. Still having pain in my right side. Hoping the doctor is right, but after 30 years of dealing with pain (post a confirming laparascopy surgery in my 20s), I still feel dismissed and unheard. Thank you.
Thank you. I will look into a second opinion and research gynecological surgeons in my area (San Francisco). It's been a tough road to get a good recommendation.
I'm 17 years old right now and have been dealing with chronic pain(abdominal and migraines) since I was 12. It started with dually migraines and then went into daily nausea. I went to every odctot possible and they couldnt figure out what it was. I have been in the ER too often to count. It went over too extreme abdominal pain more in the upper area and then in the lower area also. I was checked for gallstones through ultrasound and blood tests. I also had a CAT scan done and two upper and one… read more

I have the same pains the back and sciatic but no idea if it’s because of endometriosis. I was getting the run around with doctors for a long time. I’m still learning.

What resources did you use to find a good surgeon? Were you worried about their skill before you went under? How did you evaluate them to feel comfortable with them? I’m developing technology for surgical skill performance tracking and am curious if this is something that would have helped you when picking a surgeon. My sister had to have endo surgery after struggling with infertility after baby #1 but is now pregnant with #4! I am particularly passionate about helping women find good surgeons… read more
Hi guys,
I had my lap to remove stage 3 endo by excision just over two months ago, since my hormones switched back on after the decapeptyl, I have had worse pain but similar and in the same places as before my lap. Will it ever stop? Has anyone had experience of this and fully recovered? feeling a bit hopeless right now 😞
Thank you!
