I have found that bio-identical progesterone (not a form of birth control) has eased my horrible periods. I can't tolerate traditional bc.

I had a Mirena for 5 years. I just had it removed in July. I also had constant bleeding from the pill so Mirena was my only option. I actually had alot of success with it. I won't lie the first few months were not great and I almost had it removed but my gyno convinced me to hold out a bit.

My periods went from extreme heavy bleeding for 7 days straight to moderate bleeding for 3 to 5 days. My cramping also decreased quite a bit.

Definitely a personal choice. Like Blades said you either love it or hate it. And it doesn't damage fertility. I know several people who got pregnant shortly after having it removed.

I got very high blood pressue and asites plus ovary infection.Bleed first 6 months and didn't stop pain.But everbody is different.

I don't do it.I am so med sensitive I just cannot handle them.The only one could tolerate at all was the Depo-Shot.I also don't have kids and the Mirena was awful.

I got off my birth control for the mirena and I’m so much happier for it! It has almost fully stopped my
period (I’m only 5 months in so i expect it to fully stop by next month) and now the only pain I have to deal with is pain from my pelvic floor being damaged from the years i went untreated. I highly recomend getting the mirena. It’s a game changer! As for not having children yet it’s still a safe option because it’s reversable and the risks of damaged fertility are really low.
