I was diagnosed in June and my doctor wanted to put me on hormones to stopped the bleeding and inflammation to make it easier for him to take out the endo but I told him I didn’t want to do it and asked if there was anything else and he got mad and pretty much refused to help me unless I took the hormones so I am currently looking for another doctor I can trust but not having any luck. There is a really good book called The doctor will see you now by Tamer Seckin MD
Typically to be diagnosed you have to go through excision surgery. I highly recommend seeing a female ob/gyn specialist, to be taken seriously. My doctor performed my surgery, she is an excellent doctor, but she is also insistent that the only thing that'll help is hormones. I just started Norethindrone literally yesterday, and after reading reviews from other people who have taken it, I don't want to take it anymore. I was already reluctant to start taking it in the first place.
I just had a productive visit with a new OB/GYN after I had my 2nd laparoscopy and tons of post-surgery issues. I've always been told I can take bc pills, get laparoscopy, or get a hysterectomy.
This is NOT all there is! I'm going to try a progestrone-only hormone treatment. I'll let ya'll know how his goes, because bc pills make me either: crazy, bloated, crazy-and-bloated, never-ending periods, acne surge... But the progesterone has nooooo estrogen, so we'll see. Then there are IUDs, shots... My new OB/GYN put it to me this way: Endometriosis is a disease. It doesn't go away. It has to be treated medically.
Gee. After years and YEARS, why has no one ever said that to me? Maybe you need a new doctor? Ask your general practitioner and other friends for good OBGYN recommendations. I bet it will help. Good luck finding the right fit!
I have been symptomatic diagnosed waiting to see the specailist to discus my situation in April....
