Experiences With Norethindrone?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I started Norethindrone yesterday, after excision surgery in August made my symptoms so much worse. My doctor insisted the only treatment is hormone therapy. I did not want to do hormone therapy, but the pain is such that I need to do something until I can find another option.
I read a ton of reviews yesterday from people who have experience with taking it, and the vast majority of them are horrible. HORRIBLE.
I do not want to take it anymore but feel somewhat out of options.

It’s been good for me. Start with smaller dose if possible (5 mg) and go up if needed. Maybe find a more informed doctor (easier said than done, I know) and get a pelvic floor pt rival to see if that’s part of the problem?

Hi there! Sending you a hug. I couldn't tolerate any kind of hormonal therapy because of the side effects (mainly insomnia). I've had good results for pain relief with acupuncture, a supplement called Curamin, and CBD oil. Talk with your doctor and do research for any interactions with medicines.

My other thought is maybe you could have a different obgyn check you out for a second opinion. I know everyone is different, but I'm concerned about how much pain you are in and the surgery was months ago. Hope you feel better really soon!

This is the progesterone only one. I refused to take any sort of birth control.

I can't take estrogen. They have tried me on so many different ones they all made me worse. Have you ever tried a progesterone only pill?
