Still Bloating After Excision Laparoscopy

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
New York, NY

Hi, I had excision last week on December 13 and I woke up feeling better than before - no more pelvic pain or pain after consuming food, although I still feel pressure in my abdomen associated with consumption. This morning I woke up with a flat stomach so I know the gas from surgery has exited my body but sadly I am bloating just as I was before surgery for the past 1.5 years - I bloat with anything I consume and I have a fresh start each morning but obviously I can’t live my life without… read more

It cam take six months for your body to adjust after surgery. So definitely give it some more time.
I had my surgery in Oct and am still having some minor issues. But they are the same as every previous surgery.
Just remember you have healed on the outside. But your insides take longer to heal. x 💛🎗️

I had my surgery on the 11th, I am still bloated. This was my 4th one and I know from previous surgeries @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member is right, it is going to take time for the bloat to go away. Our bodies can only heal so fast after having something like surgery done. I know it is hard, but you have to be patient and allow your body to heal. If in 6 - 8 weeks you still have bloat, then would be the time to talk to your doctor again and let him/her know it hasn't stopped. Don't beat yourself up over this because you are only a week post-op and our bodies can not heal that fast from something.
Sending prayers and good vibes your way!!

Yes I certainly am. It has been a real heart break for me. I want to update on this but I am so hurt that it's hard for me to do that but I will. Thank you for your concern. All I know is that I couldn't make it without the support from all you wonderful ladies. You guys care more than my own adopted son. I could not have children bc of the endo & being all deformed inside. I had 2 uterus & 1 tube & 1 ovary on opposite sides. I have been through hell with this endo & adhesions. I was just reading 1 of my reports & it just says the pain is from the adhesions. I have a terrible case of it. I just hope & pray it doesn't come back bc I am 7 weeks from the major surgery & I hope it wasn't for nothing.
Merry Christmas to you & happy New Year. Hope we all have a better year.

Aw I’m so sorry that you’re going through an unhappy life experience. Yes, stress most definitely makes things worse in terms of pain and it does feed the disease. It adds to the inflammation. My doctor always reminds me to relax and try to be happy as possible because it hurts your mental, physical, and spiritual ententities.
