Cramping
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, sorry in advance for the long story. I have not been diagnosed with endometriosis as I have been tested all year for other things as I was constantly bloated and had stomach issues. I am only 17 but I got my period when I was 11, since then I've had really painful, usually heavy periods and they started iregular but became regular with accupunture. However I get a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen, I have been sent to the hospital thinking it was an apendicitist but wasn't, and got told… read more

I can't say for sure, but I do know that my endometriosis is on my left side and I have a lot of left side hip issues around the hip joint and the muscles, including the piriformis muscle (glutes) and it can extend up my left side back and down my left legs. So you are not alone. I think generally when there is a lot of inflammation in one area it can spread to the surrounding tissue!

I’m sorry you are going through this!
I was brought to the doctor when I was young complaining of painful periods that were so bad I would sometimes vomit. I was given painkillers and told her I had painful periods. Later I realized I was in fertile due to scarring of my fallopian tube‘s. And even after that I had a cyst burst and was told I might have cancer and when they opened me up they found endometriosis. That was three years ago I am now 48 years old.
I really wish when I was younger my doctor would have pursued it further so that I could take steps to avoid infertility and the pain I have had to deal with my entire life.
I’m telling the story in hopes that you pursue finding out whether or not you have endometriosis or at least to be Persistent with doctors and aware of the symptoms and the choices you have around fertility etc. There are some videos on this link that are really helpful to understand if you have endometriosis and what you can do about it.
Good luck!!!
