Diaphragmatic Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been having lower chest pains on and off for about 4 months now. I went to the errand when they first started. I haven't had a laparoscopy yet, I'm waiting on insurance for a biopsy then possibly a laparoscopy.

It’s hard to say. The chest wall irritation/pleurisy could be caused by a virus.

Is it hormonally sensitive? It would be a good idea to document symptoms along with hormonal changes, ovulation, menses, etc.

Have you had laparoscopic excision for your Endometriosis? That’s about the only way to know for sure.

Chest X-ray and EKG will not reveal Endometriosis. I had a chest CT (negative) done before recent laparoscopic surgery. Turns out I did not have it in the lower diaphragm (LAPEX) or upper diaphragm/lung cavity which was evaluated by thoracoscopy.

I had Endometriosis in the lower left pelvic wall plus fibrosis from previous surgeries. Both were excised. My pain in the diaphragm area has not returned. I was fortunate to have Dr Kenny Sinervo as my surgeon.
