Laparoscopy Time Estimate?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Going in for my first ever laparoscopy tomorrow. Looking for endo. Wondering if anyone has a time estimate of how long it will take? Both if they find something and if they don’t?
And I have never been under heavy anesthesia, any good/bad experiences?
So scared, nervous and also happy to finally get everything checked🙈😖

Good luck Hun, ive had 3 so far. They are not that bad. You will be under for a couple hours. With the anaesthetic when they start it you will feel a little sick and maybe some itching but you will fall asleep so quickly you won’t have time to react 😊. When you wake up, you will he in pain (let the nurse know how much so they can help with pain killers) the doctor should hopefully be able to advise what they found when you have woken up, I advise to have someone with you though as your going to be dozy and may not remember. It happened to me last time!! Just best of luck Hun and I hope they find it. Please talk 😊

Good luck! I am in the same agony mines in April and while I would be devasted to have it I think I’m more scared to not and have to start from square one. Take a deep breath and hopefully you have some support from work )if you work, I sure don’t right now!), family or friends. I’m here if you ever need to talk too! Please update us :) sending healing vibes and hoping you get validation for your real real pain

Mine was just done on Monday, they found mod - severe endo and it took about 1.5- 2 hours too. Ended up w 4 cuts so still pretty sore and have a granny walk😄but came home today. Slept all afternoon. Go easy on yourself and expect a few weeks to recover especially if they have to cut endo out....and make sure to keep your pain medication up regularly to keep on top of things🤗
