Hey, sorry so late. Just going through the "Needs Answers" column now. Yes, I have severe pelvic floor dysfunction. I've been on Valium suppositories for a while now. My pelvic floor physical therapy, whom I love, suggested them and my doc was cool with writing for them. That's a pretty good ER doc, imho. Must have a women's health background?
Anyway, I saw a colo-rectal surgeon also and she gave me Flexeril with Lidocaine suppositories. Those don't make me feel as groggy, but I still use the Valium before my pelvic floor physical therapy appointments so that my therapist is more able to get those muscles out of spasm. I still have a long road of physical therapy ahead of me, but am hopeful.
Happy to answer questions if you need.
