Night Sweats
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Undergone 2 laparoscopic surgeries for endometriosis in 2010 and in 2012. Have been with Mirena since 2012 don't know if night sweats are from the IUD or from the condition. No infections, no thyroid and no prolactin level problems. Wake up drench in sweat, has been goin on for about a week.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

I have had the IUD for 5 or 6 months and I have hot flashes AND night sweats, along with a bunch of other symptoms. I wake up drenched, too. I try to make sure my window is open before I go to bed… read more

Old Blood, Anyone?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have more "old blood" than red blood? Before I had my Mirena placed I would have 3 or 4 days of old blood before my period and also 3 or 4 days at the end of my period, with heavy bleeding in between those times. Since having the Mirena placed I have been dealing with the old blood as well, but without the heavy days. I feel like I have more old blood days than anything else, along with thicker brown discharge. It makes me wonder why it is that the blood cant just seem to make… read more

I had retrograde flow before the Mirena, the Mirena just made it worse. ::SIGH:: I'm just waiting for a call from my doctor so I can have a sedated removal because the strings weren't there.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have stiff legs. Swelling and hurt if you touch? Water retaintion?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

My legs are always sore. I also weigh over 200lbs though. And I had no idea I was retaining water until I mentioned to my doctor that I can gain or lose 5+ lbs overnight. She laughed and told me it… read more

Clinical Depression With Lupton Depot Or Hysterectomy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have stage 4 with cysts on my ovaries. I tried Lupron and had a number of side effects including horrific clinical depression. I want to just go forward with the hysterectomy even though I'm 32. I just fear the depression coming back due to not having my ovaries and I don't want to keep my own ovaries. Any one have these issues? How did you manage depression. I was taking medication and seeing a therapist so I did my part but I'm worried the hormones overriding the medication and I worry about… read more

Cannabis Treatments For Chronic Pain?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I live in NY where Chronic Pain will be added to the list of qualifying conditions to receive medical cannabis treatments.

There is a product that combines the non-psychoactive CBD cannabinoids with the THC cannabinoids (the kind that makes you feel good) and together they synergistically combat chronic pain by naturally disrupting the pain receptors in your body. I've found using medical cannabis to be beneficial, in particular, to help me take less harmful narcotics, which I need in order to… read more

There is a suppository (not available in NY that I know of) that has provided me with the most targeted relief I've ever experienced, right at the epicenter of where the pain is generated. Using the… read more

Bleeding After Climax
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone experience bleeding after climax? This is not just related to penetration, and after I have thick clots for about 12 hours. This happens every time, even if it's a few times a week. Should I see my specialist or is this a 'normal' endo symptom?
Appointments are very expensive so would love any advice if this has happened to someone else.

What To Expect In The Days And Weeks Following Mirena Removal..?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Okay, step 1 is done. Mirena is out. I've read about the Mirena crash that women have after having it removed. I'd love to hear from you women personally about what you may have experienced after removal. I'm really want to make sure I know what to expect...

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

2 days after Mirena I had a withdrawal bleed which was crazy. I then resumed my normal cycle 2 weeks later. About 3 months later my bleeding had returned to pre-mirena and had improved significantly… read more

Lupron And Bruxism
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone been dealing with teeth clenching as a side effect of Lupron? It's been happening to me at night for the last week.

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

I've never tried Lupron. I do grind my teeth at night though. You should be able to buy a mouth guard over the counter to help save your teeth and jaws a little. I had a special ordered one from my… read more
