I had excision surgery in March. Have been feeling fantastic, but the last two weeks I have had quite a bit of rectal bleeding (maroon in color). GI was concerned about it because I also have crohn’s disease so I had an EGD & colonoscopy today. Everything looked good and no active crohns. Also no hemorrhoids, fissures, or ulcers. Has anyone with bowel endo experienced this? I don’t have periods anymore so it’s not related to my cycle. Just kind of stumped what else could be causing it.
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I’m so sorry you’re going through this too :( endo usually cannot be found on colonoscopy unless it is deep infilitrating I believe. Only way to find it is with laparoscopy:/ have you been checked for other GI issues? That is really frustrating that they wont check another colonoscopy. I had one in January and when the rectal bleeding started in June/July my GI ordered another scope to make sure everything was okay. Keep advocating for yourself!! I hope you get some answers soon
My GI didn’t want to do it ,will see if i can find a different GI in the new year to check. I have been to several specialists and just cant seem to get good help.The one specialist that specializes in Endometriosis only takes cash and is extremely pricey.Its so sad that the only thing holding one back from getting the help you need is money.
I have been experiencing this alot but dont know if i have endo on bowls becoz my gynecologist refuse to do a colonoscopy and my gastroenterologist says no its fine as he did a check which was two years ago. How can you advise on something from two years ago,it really angers me as im scared of colon cancer
I don’t know anyone with this, but I did read on here that someone had rectal bleeding during their period every month and their doctor recommended hysterectomy. Hugs
