What Should I Do
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi everyone, I am 51 and have been diagnosed endo 4 for many years, having ovarian cysts on both side, they are about 4 and 5 cm. I tried IUD before but only made it worse, so that was taken out. Lately the pain has been increased so I am revisit the idea of surgery. My doctor suggested me to remove both of my cysts and overies, but I done some research, overies are important even I am perimanopause. But only removing the cysts would be very difficult as my condition with Endo, so it won't be a… read more

Why Do We Have To Endure An Invasive Surgery To Have A 100% Confirmed Diagnosis For Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

My gynecologist told me that she is certain I have endometriosis as well as pcos, with all my symptoms fitting them perfectly. But she also informed me that it would require surgery to confirm it so that I can get the treatment needed. I can’t take time out of work or college to do the surgery and life is miserable living it in pain and sleeplessness all the time. It’s not just a matter of missing out on work or school, it’s the money too. I can’t afford to be off more than a day, and I’ve been… read more

I can't answer why but I agree that it is ridiculous and unfair. I had the discovery surgery just to get told "yes you have it" and had to have the excision surgery 3 weeks later. Such a waste.

Should I Take Birth Control Pill Or Visanne? If Birth Control Then Should I Take It All Month Long Or Should I Have A 7 Gap For Periods?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi am 23 years old. I am having severe period pains since I was 14. I visited the doctor recently and he says i have endometriosis because i have all the symptoms. He gave me two options
1. Laproscopy to be 100% sure
2. Medication
Ultrasound showed nothing so I decided to go with the medication. He gave me two options in medication
1. Birth control pill, Mercilon low dosage
2. Hormonal treatment, Visanne
I can not afford visanne so i decided to go with birth control pill Mercilon.
I want your… read more

It's only been two days so there is no difference yet. I am gonna keep a track though.… read more

Sex Life And Physical Relationship
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

I can count on one hand the times that me and my boyfriend have had sex in the last year- sad I know
I just had excision surgery back in May and of course I'm terrified of getting back on the horse... seemed like an appropriate analogy. We have tried once since my surgery after waiting long enough and it still hurt but at the time I wasn't on any type of birth control so we had to use a condom and my fun parts have never agreed with most types. I'm thinking that was the main problem (more like… read more

Problems With Diagnoses - Can’t Seem To Get Any Answers
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hello all
I recently have gotten insurance for the first time (I’m 26) since I was 17. I have always had horrible periods. Heavy bleeding. Uterine wall shedding the size of my hand, extreme pain where over the counter meds don’t work, ulcers from the over the counter meds, pelvic pain even when I’m not on my period, fatigue, and I even tend to loose consciousness (which they claim
Is from the pain, but I have done so without any so 🤷‍♀️) In high school the doctor told my guardian I was making… read more

How Did You Get Diagnosed? My Ultrasound Came Back “normal” And My Doctor Keeps Pushing Birth Control. I Know It’s More Though.

Also recommend getting different opinions. I've been to about 8 OBGYNs since 2016 before one finally brought up endometriosis. I wasn't diagnosed with a laparoscopy, but she considered all my… read more

Doubting On Visanne
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi everyone! I am 25 and have learnt i have endometrioma in my left ovarian (4cm) and high CA125 level, my doctor wants me on Visanne. I have read so many side effects and therefore i couldnt dare taking Visanne.. I am on Yasmin contraceptive pill instead. My mother told me she also had endometriosis when she was few years older than me and even with endometrioma in one ovarian, she could get pregnant and give birth to my sister.. Could you share with me if you have similar experiences… read more

Does Anyone Think Endometriosis Is Possibly An Auto-immune Disease?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

I feel like I am going crazy. I have asked my doctors again and again to check if I have an autoimmune disease but no one takes me seriously. Well, I got bloodwork done and of course I test positive for autoimmune antibodies. But wouldn't it make sense for people with endo to have positive autoimmune antibodies? Think about it. We have uterine tissue growing in places it doesn't belong. Can't your body recognize that as foreign and start attacking it? Obviously, I'm not a doctor but it just… read more

Anyone Have Knowledge On Endometrioma Cysts?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

I had emergency surgery in 2015 for a ruptured cyst and a tear in my ovary. They discovered endometriosis.

Fast forward to now and I'm back in the UK. I had a diagnostic laparoscopy in February and was told there was no endometriosis but I've got to wait until May to see the gynaecoloist.

My GP sent me for an ultrasound on 20th March for a separate reason but the sonographer found a 5cm cyst on my right ovary.

My GP phoned me yesterday and said the cyst is an endometrioma and that typically… read more

Do You Think I Have Endometriosis
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi I'm new here and really need some help

I have painful periods, heavy and irregular. Bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, pain with bowel movements sometimes, frequent need to wee, nausea, headaches all the time. Constant dull ache in my lower stomach and back. But sometimes get shooting pains in my right side.

My ultrasound scan came back negative but I'm still in pain and feel tired all the time too. I'm seeing a gynae soon but I'm scared I might need a laparoscopy.

Please any help and… read more
