I am considering requesting a full hysterectomy in the coming months. I have been off work for nearly 2 years with no improvement and I am reaching the end of my sanity. I am an active patient at the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis clinic at BC women's hospital.
Whare are your thoughts,experiences etc on the subject?
Getting ready to have one on Wednesday 5/24. Praying that the surgeon cuts out all of the endo she can at the same time & the pain will go away. Will let you know how it goes. Good luck to you.
It's been almost 3 years since I've had a partial hysterectomy and the subject of pregnancy is a very hard one for me. It's really hard for me to see other women pregnant and also when they have a baby. All my close friends have kids or are trying and it really kills me to be around them even though I'm genuinely happy for them but it's something I'll never experience or have and it sucks. I tried 3 IUDs and my body rejected all 3; then tried Norethrindrone and I hated it . My weight changed for the worse and it effected my mood. So I stopped . My doc told me about a newer pill called Slynd . Wondering if anyone else has had experience with this ?

Hi I hope someone can help I've been to my GP he did blood test and my estrogen levels are low I'm 47 it's causing a lot of problems down below he has prescribed 10mg of vagifem weekly to help I was a bit concerned because I said to him I taught that estrogen feeds endometriosis he said it was fine because it is a low dose and I'm not taking it by mouth so it's just helping the problem below has anyone tried this before as I'm getting really depressed cause I've tried all of the creams and… read more

If you aren't embarrassed by my question I'd appreciate knowing if anyone else has the same experience. I have issues with having sex, the majority of the time it makes me feel sick in my stomach, I luckily have a very understanding bf. Sometimes when I feel that internal sex will be to much we go for the external pleasure (clitoris). But even this causes pain sometimes. Does this happen to anyone else? My doctors are very coy with giving me answers to anything.
Laparoscopy is the answer if excision is used to remove Endo. Most who get a laparoscopy are getting ablation where the Endo is simply burned but not removed, causing more pain and scarring. Endo… read more
Hi I have the mirena coil in place and I'm due to have a laproscopy in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if the mirena masks the endo? Does it make it harder to find endo during surgery?
I agree with MissCaitlin. I was on depo during my surgery and my doctor found tons of endo. I think it will depend on the skill of the surgeon. I hope it all goes well!
