I just saw something about endometriomas not necessarily on the ovaries. I can't remember where I saw it because I was searching for something else, but that's what it sounds like to me.

My guess is that if it was drained, but not removed, there's a good chance it will return. Get another ultrasound in a few months if you get symptoms again.

I just had surgery to get an endometrioma removed, and asked to get a hysterectomy on top of that. (For various reasons not necessarily about the cysts) Your 22 minute experience is the opposite of my overnight hospital stay and 4 weeks off work.

I actually have heard of it and fo know it is rare. I dont know a lot about it but your dr should be able to provide you with a some information. You are in my thoughts and prayers 💜💗
