I'm newly diagnosed stage 3 endo. I think I'm about to also be told I have an over active thyroid. How common is it to have both? What does this all mean moving forward?
I had, fibroids, overactive thyroid and endometriosis. Fibroids were over 6cm i had surgery 2017 removed them after surgery i felt like night and day. But my pain didn't go away i didn't know then i had endometriosis but my thyroid was causing issues i had to be out of work for few weeks sometimes. Overactive thyroid affects every organ in your body i had heart palpitations tiredness i wasn't able to focus memory issues. I removed my thyroid which was my best option last June and im now on a pill for the rest of my life. I feel fine most of the symptoms from the graves disease went away but im still not able to deal with heat. My period pain will get so servre that i would be out of work often, my doc tested everything even my cervix everything looked normal then a month after those texts i had my period and the pain was so bad i had panic attacks with it. Thats when my doc said he need to go in to get to the root of this issue so i did the surgery he found the endometriosis and scared tissues im healing fone now apart from cramps im having now because my period started this morning which the doc said will be very painful and will last 2 weeks.
Its It's tough being a woman hmmmm the pain we feel its hard to describe to others. Now im 38 no kids and not sure if i can.
Hang in there and talk with your doctor ive been there its not easy constant pain. I suggest a change in your diet too.
There is some evidence that Endo is an autoimmune disease, which thyroid disease also can be. So ask your doctor, but that’s why I was told to get screened for autoimmune stuff regularly.
