Does anyone have endo on the ureter? What are/were your symptoms? Did your doctor use ablation or excision to remove it? Also, did it ever return? How long after surgery did it come back?

Hi! I had surgery 8/22 and my doctor found my ureter encased in endo. He used excision to remove all my endo and it has not returned and nor have the symptoms. As I understand it, endo can't be lasered (ablation) off the ureters as it's much too sensitive/fragile of an area.

Yes. New York is a long way to travel for surgery when we have great doctors here. So do you continue care with Dr. Cook?

I went to a Stanford doctor for my laproscopy. I didnt know the difference between ablation and excision until after I had the surgery planned. I actually drive by Dr. Andrew Cook’s office to get to my Stanford OBGYN. I looked him up on my insurance provider directory and called his office and I confirmed that he is out of network. It woukd cost alot for me to see him and get ultrasounds. Surgery would also be very expensive with him. I unfortunately had to pass him up for thise reasons. It sucks because his office is close by.

Thank you for sharing. My doctor found endo of the ureter did ablation in November. I’m still having right flank pain. Was curious to know if others are expericing the same problem.
