I definitely was a greasy monkey after mine but don’t do anything to strain those muscles, seriously I made the mistake of vacuuming and I was in so much pain. Dry shampoo and baby powder is what I used.

I showered maybe 3 days later and washed my hair, but it was only shoulder length. Washing your beautiful locks will probably be to much. I hope your recovery goes well.

KatherineB it actually felt good to bend over the tub because it gave my back a chance to stretch out! I have a hand held showerhead so I took that down, kneeled down next to the tub and just bent my head over the side. I did need a little help standing back up, but overall it worked better than I thought it would.

Thank you ladies for all your responses!!! Its been a rough couple of days trying to figure things out. My biggest issue is that I can't stretch my abdomen too much without pain so trying to stand in the shower and lean back to wash my hair like I've usually done is not possible right now. I finally managed to knee down and bend over my tub to get it washed! WolfieandMe I did purchase as 2in1 so I didn't have to work too hard and that definitely helped.

Can you get a handheld shower head? That way you can direct the stream right where you need it and prevent excess water over your incision sites. You can also temporarily place a waterproof bandage over the steristrips using saran wrap and medical tape if you want to be extra safe. Do you have someone that can help you in and out of the shower and to lather and rinse? Also you can use shampoo only then get out of the water and use a leave in conditioner. Or you can use a combo shampoo and conditioner like pert plus to minimize lathering and rinsing. That way you dont have to reach overhead as much. They have some on amazon prime that will arrive in a day or two. Let me know if i can help you find one or buy one if you are financially strained right now.
